Mike Kooyman, DPM

Dr. Mike Kooyman has been in practice since 1999. He specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, foot and ankle trauma, sports related injuries and diabetic foot care and salvage. Dr. Kooyman is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). He is also a certified wound care specialist physician (WCSP) through the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM). He is on active staff at Summerlin, Sunrise, and MountainView Hospitals. He served as President of the Nevada Podiatric Medical Association for 2 years.

Dr. Kooyman attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his surgical residency in the U.S. Army. He served as a Podiatrist in the Army for 6 years and the reserves for 2 years. In 2007 he completed a 12 month fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in Indianapolis.

Dr. Kooyman has lived in Las Vegas since 2007. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking, computer gaming, and spending time with his wife and their 3 children. He has completed 6 full Ironman triathlon events, including a world championship as well as several half distances. He is proud to be an Eagle Scout and continues to volunteer in Scouting.
